Lexcel - Excellence in Practice Management and Client Care
Lexcel is the Law Society's practice management standard for law firms and in-house legal departments. It demonstrates excellence in practice management and client care which can help your organisation stand out from a crowded market and give clients and other stakeholders confidence in your practice.
It is also accepted by the Legal Aid Agency and the Money Advice Service as an alternative to the Specialist Quality Mark ("SQM") accreditation.

Initial accreditation
If you are thinking of switching from SQM or want to achieve Lexcel accreditation for your organisation for the first time, it is imperative that you get specialist advice. Do I need a consultant?
Think about how many hours per month or year you spend on Lexcel and other compliance including the associated training.
